CariVu gently hugs the side of the tooth and floods it with near-infrared light. The patented trans-illumination technology causes the tooth to appear transparent while cavities block and absorb the light and appear dark. The fully illuminated tooth is projected onto a screen, allowing both you and Dr. Chiang to clearly see hidden problem spots with a high degree of accuracy.
